TEST DRIVE #1
FOREWARD - SEPT. 4th, 2019 - 9:00 A.M EST
Every 5th of the month a test drive meme will go up. This is of course in hopes that you become interested and want to play with us for a long time to come. We have six scenarios for you to branch off of or you could come up with your own. We don't constrain creativity here, so maybe you have something better. Don't be afraid to put up a couple posts, someone is bound to answer one way or the other. Let the fun begin!
1. A POTENTIAL UNEXPLORED ISLAND - NEAR IVALICE
You have no party members at the moment, you've been traveling alone with a non-fighting captain and paying him what you can along the way. He's here for the travel, and tends to be a drunkard, it's a good working relationship as long as you don't bother him too much. Right now yov'e left Ivalice to travel north toward Spira but along the way, you two noticed a cluster of small islands after your small ship got deteered by a brief high seas storm.
In the distance of one of the islands, you note there's firelight. Clearly seen in the night. You dock on shore after what seems like forever and draw close to the fire. Upon closer inspection there's not just a fire but broken coconuts and...your stomach churns, a severed hand sitting in a pool of blood. What do you do here? You came to explore but if there's someone barbaric here, you're not in the mood to deal with it.
After much delegation with the captain, you decide to explore despite his warnings. Whoever did this? You're hardly afraid, it's just disgusting to see. Besides, an island not on the map? You've been bored this whole boat ride. It's time to see what this place has to offer.
2. THE HIDDEN FOREST ON CENTRA COUNTRY NEAR THE OLD ORPHANAGE IN GANOSH
You decided to explore this desert land on your own. You came across a hidden path and it lead you to this forest. There's a few low-level monsters roaming around, you fight a few a long the way to gather hide and loot but stop when you see a faint glow deeper inside, in the distance. You move toward it, realizing it has a faint violet glow. When you get there, you're shocked to see such a big piece of purple Materia stuck in a grove in the middle of the ground. We're talking, it's gigantic and seems to serve no purpose other than being there to look pretty. What is something like this doing here? If you break off a piece will it work in your weapon? Is it summon materia? It has to be.
You hear something snap in the distance. It must be a branch and someone must be here. Who could it be?
3. HAPPY JOLLY DADDIES CELEBRATION IN KALM TOWN ON PLANOS
It's been a lovely and enjoyable day so far. You've eaten good food, had your fill of drinks and even saw some pretty fireworks the night before. You and your party members decided to celebrate this holiday here since it seems like a peaceful and propersous town. Not to mention they were having a holiday item sell that you couldn't pass up.
Now it's day two of the celebration and you're looking forward to the three-legged race. There's a prize of two EP support materia that you can't pass up. They're expensive and you really want it for battling purposes. You can't find your party anywhere, those abandoners. Time to talk some random stranger into helping you out. Who will you ask? That pretty girl in a blue dress over by the fountain? Or that big gruff redheaded man carrying a greatsword? Or the the kid who looks twelve and would probably slow you down? Kids like shinies. Right?
4. SURROUNDED IN ALEXANDER
You were well aware of the trouble in Kilijolyons, and it's wicked King who lives in this beautiful city but you heard they were selling a legendary weapon for a steep price and you wanted to check it out. The king, knnwn as Andrela, is having you attacked for coming in without permission and not paying the visitor toll. You shouldn't have come alone because these guys look tough. How do you get out of this? Do you think they'll take a bribe of Gil? Maybe if you offer your belongings they'll go away? Well, better think quick before your butt gets handed to you. There's at least five strong men with swords, so this fight is sorely unfair.
5. JUST BITTEN IN MYRIADIA'S DELIA
Unfortunate for you, you were surprise attacked by a feral wolf and bitten on your way back to your ship. The Dark Elves have the cure but not only can they be unfriendly, you also accidentally broke their prized village angel statue before leaving. There was lots of yelling and tears from some of the elven women and you feeling a great wave of something like annoyance or shame before sneaking off without paying for the damages. You can't afford something that expensive to fix right now.
However, you really need that cure and they've been refusing to give to yoo. Turn into a filthy beast they keep saying. A small teenage girl is moved to pity you and tells you to find the snail Inn, deep in the forest. The owner has a solution, an even better cure that works faster and is painless. Good riddance to these stupid elves. Time to find that Snail Inn. You have little less than 23 hours, and it can be very difficult to find as you've found. It seems to travel everywhere. Better get going before you start howling at the moon and hunting down vegan eating rabbits.
6.CATCH THAT CHOCOBO! IN A FOREST IN IVALICE
You can't afford a ship or even to rent a cabin. You heard catching chocobos was difficult but this is crazy. Every last yellow feathered cutie you come across squawks and runs away in the other direction, no matter the flavor greens you have. The cheap whistle you bought isn't working either. Are you diseased? You don't think so. At least you hope not because you really need a travel buddy in the form of a giant baby chicken or else traveling on foot is going to hurt something fierce.
You see it. There's one peacefully eating greens off a short tree. Here's your chance. You slowly sneak up on it discreetly, and as you're going to try petting it, it screams bloody murder and kicks you in the stomach, sending you flying. You crash to the ground and everything hurts. You hear laughter suddenly. Oh, forget whoever that is. They don't know the pain and suffering you've been enduring all darn day. Still on the ground, with a mouth full of dirt, you turn your head and sputter....
